Meeting with the Warrior Tree

On the island of Delpheon there is a forest. It is called the Banglewood, and it covers the entire center of the island. A place where time and distance bend, and magics of all kinds converge upon eachother. Held together by the powers of the Kings of Trees; the giant Bangledesh which grow at its center. Although humans still populate the outer reaches of the Wood, relics of its power remain. Silent sentinels, the Warrior Trees, stand guard over fallen civilizations and overgrown cities. If you are brave and honest in heart you can go and visit them, if you like.

Goodness this picture was a lot of work. I guess I really don't have to say much more. I had a very strong vision here, and it came out pretty darn well. This is actually an illustration from a novel I've written, so I can't really say much about the girl or why she's gone to visit such a strange tree.

Some notes about Warrior Trees: Their Delpheonian name is banglonar, which means "Tree Fighter." And that is exactly what they do. I made them up as the Antellonian version of Ents, if you will. But a much older, wilder Ent; an Ent that no longer has any resemblance or sympathy with humans.

I'll leave it up to you to figure out how they move about. The only thing I will say is this: You see those strange three banches there? Those are its feet.
